Periodontology
“Periodontal diseases are inflammatory conditions that affect the gum and other tissues supporting the teeth. When diagnosed early, these diseases can be easily and successfully treated. Despite being a prevalent condition in our society, gum disease is often insidious, with limited knowledge about its causes, consequences, and treatment. Preventing or treating gum diseases not only preserves natural teeth but also brings other benefits, such as improved chewing comfort and better digestion.
Our clinic offers various gum treatments, including:
In the Initial Periodontal Treatment, which is the first step for patients in the periodontology department, comprehensive systemic and intraoral records are taken. The application includes the removal of plaque containing bacteria from the teeth, informing the patient about both oral hygiene and periodontal disease, and correcting existing fillings. During the Reassessment phase, the patient’s condition is observed after the applied treatment, and the need for advanced periodontal treatment is determined. In Advanced Periodontal Treatment, surgical interventions and gum curettage procedures are performed if necessary. Maintenance Therapy involves patients visiting the dentist every 3 or 6 months for check-ups to determine the health of the tissues after the applied periodontal treatment.”
